Opportunity to join the Anchorage Historic Preservation Commission

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a candidate with professional experience in archeology to join the Anchorage Historic Preservation Commission. This Historic Preservation Commission makes recommendations to the Mayor and Anchorage Assembly in matters of preserving our community’s historic and cultural heritage sites, and promotes historic preservation throughout the Municipality.

The HPC meets most every month, on Thursday evenings. The meetings are held at City Hall, and participants may join remotely via Microsoft Teams. This would be an exciting time to join the Commission as we are revitalizing the program and embarking on a historic resources inventory database and map app, a historic and heritage preservation plan for all the Municipality, and a variety of other projects.
