Doug Veltre’s Celebration of Life Sept. 20

The family and friends of Doug Veltre, longtime Alaskan UAA anthropology teacher and Aleutian Pribilof archaeologist, invite you to a celebration of life to be held at the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association building, 1131 East International Airport Road on September 20, beginning at 2pm. This event is open to anyone who knew Doug, as a colleague, professor, friend, etc. All are welcome to come.

Doug was a member and contributor to the Alaska Anthropological Association for over four decades who had a tremendous impact on our field and so many professionals in Alaska. During his tenure he held various roles on the Association’s board, including the role of president 1981-1982. His loss will be deeply felt within our community.
