There will be a screening of the documentary film Igliqtiqsiugvigruaq at the Anchorage Museum on Friday, May 22nd (7:00 pm). This film examines the relationship between the Alaska Native village of Kiana and a team of archaeologists excavating a site along the Kobuk River. A discovery of human remains brings work to a sudden halt. But time and nature do not rest as the eroding power of the Kobuk River threatens to reclaim the site.
