The Alaska Anthropological Association publishes two issues annually of the Alaska Journal of Anthropology, which features scholarly articles, symposium scholarly articles, symposium proceedings, reports, and book reviews on the anthropology of the north. All members of the Association receive an automatic subscription to the journal with payment of their annual dues.
Editor - Owen K. Mason
An editor appointed by the Association's president and board of directors oversees the journal, soliciting submissions and ensuring that each paper receives a professional review by three individuals with expertise in its subject matter. The editor accepts or rejects papers for publication on the basis of those reviews. Reports and book reviews are not subjected to this peer-review process; their publication is at the editor's discretion.
Editorial Board
The journal's editor appoints an editorial board to assist in soliciting and reviewing submissions and determining the suitability of specific works for publication.
